What They Are

Bollards Removable 90mm Key Lock with Sleeve-style bollards are cylindrical steel posts about 90 mm in diameter designed to be a physical barrier against vehicles. They lock into place using a key-operated mechanism and can be removed when access is needed — giving you both security and flexibility.

Main Features

Removable Key Lock Mechanism

  • The bollard slides into a ground sleeve or base plate and is locked securely with a key.

  • When you want to allow access (e.g., to move a vehicle or heavy equipment), you unlock it and lift the bollard out.

  • Keys are usually supplied, often “keyed alike” so one key opens many bollards.

Durable Construction

  • Made of  304 stainless steel for strength and corrosion resistance.

  • Often powder-coated or polished for outdoor use and long life.

Typical Specs

  • Diameter: ~90 mm — gives a strong physical barrier without being overly bulky.

  • Height: Usually around 900–1150 mm above ground (plus sleeve depth).

  • Weight & Structure: 5mm Solid steel walls that resist impacts from cars and machinery.

Installation Options

  • In-ground sleeve: core-drilled or set into new concrete/asphalt, ideal for long-term use.

  • Surface mount / base plate: bolts down to an existing surface where digging isn’t practical. Examples include Removable Surface Mount Bollard with Key Lock or Removable Surface Mount Bollard ‑ Key Lock ‑ 90 Dia x 1000 m.

Common Uses

These bollards are widely used to:

  • Protect parked vehicles from accidental or unauthorized impact or access.

  • Secure driveways, access points and private lanes.

  • Protect assets & infrastructure like loading bays, entrances, walkways and equipment.

  • Control access to areas that occasionally need opening for deliveries or heavy machinery.

  • Hospitality, retail and public-facing frontages
  • Protecting parked vehicles and controlling driveway access
  • Loading bays, walkways and entrances that occasionally need to open

Why Stainless Over Powder-Coated Steel?

The 304 stainless construction resists rust and corrosion without relying on a coating, so it holds its appearance in exposed, coastal and wash-down environments. It also gives a cleaner, more architectural look than a powder-coated bollard, which is why it's usually the pick for customer-facing frontages.

Commercial vs Residential Suitability

Commercial: The natural choice for shopfronts, offices, hospitality venues and any frontage where the bollard is visible to customers. Also the right pick for coastal or wash-down sites.

Residential: Suits modern homes and coastal properties where a polished finish complements the architecture. If appearance is less of a factor, our powder-coated 90mm bollard offers the same protection at a lower price.

Installation

Installed with an in-ground sleeve, core-drilled or cast into concrete or asphalt for a permanent, flush finish. When the bollard is removed, the sleeve cover keeps the surface safe and level.

Available supply-only, or with our supply and installation service across Melbourne and Victoria.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will stainless steel rust?

304 stainless is highly corrosion resistant, which is why it's specified for exposed and coastal sites. It doesn't rely on a coating that can chip, so it keeps its finish far longer than painted steel in wet environments.

Can one key open several bollards?

Yes. Keys are typically supplied keyed alike so a single key operates every bollard on your site.

Is it as strong as the powder-coated version?

It shares the same 90mm diameter and 5mm solid steel wall construction. The difference is the material and finish, not the strength.

Do you install, or is it supply only?

Both. Add to cart for supply-only, or request a quote for supply and installation.

Installation

Install it yourself, or let us do it

Most in-ground bollards can be installed by a competent DIYer with a core drill and concrete. For multiple units, commercial sites, or anywhere near live traffic and underground services, it is worth having our team do it.

  • DIY. Core the hole, set the sleeve in concrete, let it cure, then drop the bollard in.
  • Supply and install. We mark out, core, set and finish on site so it is done once and done properly.
  • Multiple bollards. We work out spacing and layout so vehicles are stopped where you want them.
